How to Pick the Perfect Piece of Jewelry for Your Friends
There is always someone's birthday, a holiday or a special occasion that you need to buy a gift for a dear friend, neighbor or family member. I thought I would write a few things to keep in my mind when picking out a necklace or
necklace and earring set for that special someone.
First, begin by asking yourself does she wear more casual clothes or dressy attire? Answering this question will give you a direction and focus when picking out the jewelry. If the answer is both, dressy and casual then great, easier for you! Just pick out anything that you like or think she would like and it will fall into one of those categories. Once you have figured the style you are looking for then you can move on to what length necklace would be best.
Here are some general guidelines on what looks best on Petite, Average and Tall women. There are always exceptions to the rules, but here are some general guidelines.......
Petite Women (5'4" and under): What typically looks best is choker length (collar area) or a longer necklace. By longer necklace, meaning anywhere from her bust to shortly after. Smaller pendants are usually a better choice for skinny, petite women. But once again this is personal preference.
Average Women (5'5" to 5'7"): These women can really wear any style from short to long and all lengths in between. For the bustier women try to choose a necklace in the 19"-21" range.
Tall Women (5'7.5" and taller): These lucky women look fabulous in anything!
I tend to like necklaces with larger pendants on tall women. Some tall women like choker lengths because it de-emphasizes height or a long neck. Either style you choose these women can pull it off.
Neck Size: Most short necklaces are made in the range of 15-17". For thicker necks a necklace measuring at least 18" is best.
You know what she likes: You know what she looks best wearing and what styles she usually wears. You can play is safe or choose something a little different that you know will look fabulous on her.
I hope this helps answer some questions and guide you in the right direction when picking out a beautiful piece of jewelry for your beautiful friend!
